This role involves managing operational, credit, liquidity, and market risks while refining credit and non-credit risk functions. As Head of Risk Management, you will play an instrumental role in guiding the organisation’s approach to risk across multiple domains. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of operational, credit, liquidity, and market risks are managed proactively. You will be expected to stay ahead of regulatory changes by updating policies in line with POJK requirements while mentoring your team to uphold best practices. Success in this role means not only maintaining compliance but also driving strategic improvements that enable the business to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Your ability to foster open communication channels will help embed a culture where everyone feels responsible for managing risk together.

  • Oversee the full spectrum of risk management activities including operational, credit, liquidity, and market risks to ensure robust protection for the organisation.
  • Lead the implementation and regular updating of regulatory requirements such as POJK, ensuring all policies are current and fully integrated into daily operations.
  • Guide and mentor a dedicated risk management team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and shared responsibility.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership on credit and non-credit risk functions effectively, optimising internal processes for greater clarity and efficiency.
  • Develop comprehensive frameworks for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating various types of risks across all business units.
  • Ensure seamless communication between departments to promote awareness of risk issues and encourage proactive management throughout the organisation.
  • Prepare detailed reports for executive management and regulatory bodies, providing clear insights into emerging risks and recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance branchless banking security by anticipating potential threats unique to digital platforms.
  • Support the integration of new technologies by evaluating associated risks and recommending appropriate controls.
  • Champion a culture of responsible risk-taking that aligns with organisational values while safeguarding customer trust.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing complex risk management functions within financial services or banking environments, particularly those operating digitally or branchlessly.
  • Proven track record in implementing regulatory updates such as POJK into practical policies that drive compliance without stifling innovation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to nurture team cohesion and facilitate knowledge sharing among colleagues at all levels.
  • Mature judgement characterised by reliability, thoughtfulness, and an even-tempered approach to problem-solving under pressure.
  • A history of stable career progression reflecting loyalty and commitment rather than frequent job changes or impulsive moves between employers.
  • Balanced perspective—neither overly compliant nor confrontational—enabling you to provide honest feedback while remaining considerate of others’ viewpoints.
  • Strong analytical abilities allowing you to assess complex scenarios quickly and recommend effective solutions tailored to organisational needs.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives by identifying new risks associated with technology adoption and proposing suitable controls.
