A leading investment authority in Jakarta seeks a VP Compliance to shape compliance strategy, ensuring integrity and adherence to legal standards in investment activities. Reporting to the CRO, you'll collaborate with senior stakeholders, influencing key decisions on local and international initiatives. What you'll do:

As VP Compliance based in Jakarta, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that every aspect of the organisation’s investment activity is conducted ethically and legally. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with senior leadership to design robust compliance strategies tailored to complex corporate transactions. You will provide critical advice on legal matters relating to investments and acquisitions while maintaining open communication channels between risk management, legal teams, and external partners. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing large-scale investments as well as a commitment to nurturing a culture of integrity throughout the organisation. By delivering insightful analysis and practical solutions, you will empower your colleagues to make informed decisions that drive sustainable growth while protecting stakeholder interests.

• Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance frameworks for all investment activities, ensuring alignment with local and international regulations.
• Provide expert guidance on legal matters related to investments, acquisitions, and co-investment structures, helping the organisation navigate complex regulatory environments.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Risk Officer and other senior leaders to assess compliance risks associated with new investor partnerships and corporate transactions.
• Lead regular reviews of internal controls and processes to identify potential areas of non-compliance or operational risk, recommending effective solutions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for executive management detailing compliance status, emerging risks, and recommended actions for mitigation.
• Act as a trusted advisor during negotiations with external investors or partners, ensuring all agreements adhere to applicable laws and organisational standards.
• Coordinate with legal counsel on due diligence activities for mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures, safeguarding the organisation’s interests throughout each transaction.
• Deliver training sessions and workshops for staff on compliance best practices, fostering a culture of ethical behaviour and shared responsibility.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation or industry standards, proactively updating policies to maintain full regulatory compliance.
• Represent the organisation in discussions with regulators or industry bodies as required, building positive relationships based on transparency and trust.

What you bring:

• Extensive experience in banking or investment banking environments managing high-value corporate transactions at an executive level.
• Having legal background is much valued.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing compliance programmes within financial services or investment sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian regulatory requirements as well as international standards governing investments and acquisitions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams including risk management, legal counsel, investment team and external partners.
• Strong analytical abilities allowing you to interpret complex legal documents and identify potential areas of concern before they escalate into issues.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging training sessions on compliance topics tailored for audiences at all levels within an organisation.
• Experience conducting due diligence for mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures involving significant ticket sizes.
• Commitment to ethical conduct supported by a thorough understanding of best practices in corporate governance.
• Adaptability when responding to evolving regulatory landscapes or shifting business priorities.
