Financial Controller

An excellent Financial Controller job has just become available at an international life insurance company in Jakarta, Indonesia.

About the Financial Controller Role:
You will proactively lead the overall accounting function covering general accounting, financial accounting reporting, IFRS 17 implementation including transition into business as usual activities, ICFR and tax function, both on daily basis as well as on project basis to ensure all reports and analysis is done accurately, completely, validly, in compliance with internal controls and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce financial reporting and analysis to be signed off by CFO including management accounting report for strategic decision making purpose, and the roll out of IFRS 17 in particular in the first few years starting 2023 for corporate reporting and 2025 for local Indonesian reporting
• Lead general accounting processes, financial statement reconciliation, tax function to ensure monthly, quarterly, annual reports are done accurately, completely, validly, in compliance with internal controls and in a timely manner
• Oversee all activities related to relevant government and regulator policies including liaising with the auditors (external, internal, tax, OJK)
• Lead the team to be more efficient and effective by improving the competencies, capabilities, and quality of work
• Lead the innovative culture to lay foundation for future Global Finance Reimagined

To succeed in this Financial Controller role, you must have adequate professional experience and knowledge of the life insurance industry.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in work environments with matrix reporting to regional/group office
• Experience in leading team of more than 15 people is a plus
• Degree in accounting preferably a Chartered Accountant
• Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus
• Expert in accounting standard and reporting and keeping abreast of new regulations both Indonesian PSAK and IFRS as well as tax law and other relevant regulations
• Good communication skills both in Indonesian and English
• Good leadership to manage a team of over 20 people and natural ability to groom people
• Preferably Chartered Accountant including Certified Public Accountant
• Vast knowledge of the accounting system
