Our client is seeking a seasoned Investment Compliance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is an integral part of the Asia Pacific Investment Compliance Team, focusing on Indonesia. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a global compliance program that includes advisory, training, monitoring, and reporting for investment activities across research, portfolio management, trading, and pricing. What you'll do:
As an Investment Compliance Manager, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all activities are compliant with regulatory requirements. You will be tasked with creating, implementing, and maintaining policies that are designed to ensure compliance with both internal policies and external laws and regulations. Your excellent communication skills will be utilised as you provide guidance and training to staff members on Investment Compliance matters. You will also be responsible for managing both active and passive breaches, ensuring prompt resolution while collaborating on cross-regional compliance activities. Your analytical skills will come into play as you analyse complex breaches, trade errors, and market abuse cases.
* Ensure all activities satisfy regulatory requirements within the Investment Compliance areas
* Create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
* Provide guidance, advice and training to staff members related to Investment Compliance matters
* Execute coding and monitoring of investment guidelines
* Manage active and passive breaches, ensuring prompt resolution
* Perform compliance monitoring activities within the Investment Compliance area as needed
* Analyse and escalate complex breaches, trade errors, and market abuse cases
* Lead or participate in internal compliance reviews
* Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to senior management
* Review and analyse new regulatory developments impacting business activities
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Investment Compliance Manager role will have a university degree in law, business management or a similar field. With over 6 years' experience in the financial industry with a focus on asset management, you have developed a sound understanding of the current issues affecting the financial services industry. Your working knowledge of Bloomberg coupled with your experience with investment guidelines coding sets you apart from others. You have a comprehensive understanding of regulations, their interpretation, and practical application. Your knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, and investment strategies is extensive. You possess strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and the local language.
- University degree in law, business management or similar field
- 6+ years’ experience in the financial industry with a focus in asset management
- Knowledge of Bloomberg coding highly preferred
- Sound understanding of the current issues affecting the financial services and asset management industry
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg
- Experience with investment guidelines coding
- Understanding of regulations, their interpretation, and practical application
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, and investment strategies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; both English and local language
