About the Compliance (Senior Position) Role:
Reporting to the business leaders, you will be responsible for ensuring that an organisation operates within the legal and regulatory framework applicable to its industry.
Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the organisation's compliance
Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues
Develop and implement strategies to address and mitigate compliance risks
Policy and Procedure Management:
Oversee the development, maintenance, and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with the company's regulations and compliance requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all departments are adhering to established policies and procedures
Training and Education:
Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters, fostering a culture of awareness and adherence
Create and deliver training programs to enhance the team's understanding of regulatory requirements
Internal and External Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors
Liaise with internal stakeholders to communicate regulatory changes and updates
Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish monitoring mechanisms to track and report compliance metrics
Prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, highlighting areas of compliance and potential risks
To succeed in this Compliance (Senior Position) role, you must be able to carry out a combination of proactive measures, monitoring, education, and response to ensure that an organisation adheres to legal and regulatory requirements. The goal is to maintain ethical business practices and mitigate the risk of legal and regulatory violations.
Minimum of eight years' relevant experience in compliance management, preferably within the financial industry or sovereign wealth fund sector.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and internal control systems
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programmes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications is a plus
