About the Head of Institutional Equity Sales (Contract Based) Role: The Head of Institutional Equity Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and managing the equity sales team within a financial institution. This is a contract-based position, with a focus on developing and executing strategies to drive institutional equity sales and enhance the company's market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and lead a team of institutional equity sales professionals. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and ensure team performance meets or exceeds targets
Market Analysis: Stay updated with market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to inform the development of effective sales strategies
Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, and other financial institutions. Understand their needs and develop customised solutions
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets. Create and implement plans to attract new clients and expand business opportunities with existing clients
Product Knowledge: Stay well-informed about the products and services offered by the company. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of equity and financial products to effectively advise clients
Compliance: Ensure that all sales activities are compliant with relevant regulations and internal policies. Work closely with compliance teams to address any issues
Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management, detailing sales performance, market insights, and progress towards sales goals
Risk Management: Assess and manage risk associated with equity sales activities. Implement risk mitigation strategies as needed
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as research, trading, and operations, to ensure seamless and efficient service to clients
Budget Management: Manage the sales department budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve business objectives
The ideal Head of Institutional Equity Sales (Contract Based) should have a strong background in financial markets, deep industry knowledge, and exceptional leadership skills.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus)
Significant experience (12 or more years) in institutional equity sales or a related role within the financial industry
Active WPPE Licence
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team
In-depth knowledge of equity markets, financial products, and industry regulations
Strong client relationship management skills and a track record of successful client acquisition and retention
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Analytical mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
